He sat down heavily and watched his wife sullenly as she made the coffee. Madame Dutruelle was a simple woman cable duct of forty-six whose long, thin-lipped face was framed by stern grey hair. Her strong, practical hands were country hands, and she had never got used to city life. She lived for the day when she and her husband would retire to their home wire duct village in Les Pyrenées. Inspector Dutruelle sighed to himself again. Poor Agnes. She tried so hard to please him. How could she know that he longed to be free of her? How could she possibly know of Vololona, the young Malagasy he had met while on the Clichy case? For him it had been love at first sight.

“And for me too, my darling,” Vololona had been quick to agree, her large brown eyes welling with tears as they gazed at him through the smoke of the Chatte et Lapin where she worked, “a veritable coup de foudre.” She spoke French well, with a Malagasy accent and huskiness that left you with a sense of mystery and promise. Inspector Dutruelle was pvc duct a happy man; but he was careful to tell no-one except Monsieur Chébaut, his closest friend, about the source of his happiness.

This evening’s guests were all European and all equally convinced that immigration was at the root of Europe’s problems. Charles de Gruse said nothing. He had always wire duct concealed his contempt for such ideas.

Dhaka, Nov 27 (bdnews24.com)—Overhead cables used for internet services is not going to be removed anytime soon as authorities are missing the Tuesday deadline because of unfinished construction of underground cable ducts.

The Dhaka Electric Supply Company (DESCO) had told the ISPs and cable operators to remove their cables from its electricity poles from Uttara to Shahbagh by Oct 31. The deadline was extended by a month as constructions of the underground cable ducts were not complete.

The cables were to be brought down in two phases—first from Uttara to Shahbagh and then from Shahbagh to Gulshan via Motijheel and Moghbazaar. Deadline for both phases ends on Tuesday.

One of the agencies responsible for building underground ducts for laying these cables, however, says that they are ready for the job. The other one says it is only ready for the first phase.

In 2009, two private entities, Fiber At Home and Summit Communications were awarded Nationwide Telecommunications Transmission Network (NTTN) licences to build, operate and maintain such networks.

“We have laid about 200 km of underground duct in the capital and we are ready to cater for the ISPs along with all major cable TV operators,” Moynul Haque Siddiqui, managing director of Fiber At Home, told a press conference Saturday.

According to him, already over 50 internet service providers (ISPs), WiMax and mobile operators along with some cable TV operators and corporate offices are connected to their underground cable system.

“Our underground duct presently covers all the areas of the two phases.”

But, Summit Communications needs some time for the second phase even though it is all set for the Uttara-Shabagh stretch, Arif Al Islam, the top official of Summit Communications Ltd (SCL), told bdnews24.com on Saturday.

Summit will need another month to complete the work, added the managing director of SCL.

He was echoed by the ISP Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB).

“We are hopeful about bringing down overhead cables from Uttara to Shahbagh, but for the rest we need more time…at least a month,” Abdul Hakim, general secretary of ISPAB, told bdnews24.com.

The ISP trade body leader also said they would ask for an extension of the deadline by a month.

“In fact, we will need a month after Summit completes its work.”

An inter-ministry meeting on Nov 1 decided to extend the deadline to December this year, according to an official of the power ministry.

“It has been agreed that the deadline would extended and also that it would be the final one,” the official told bdnews24.com, preferring anonymity.

The meeting also decided to conduct a drive against dangling cables after the deadline ends in December, he added.

According to unofficial estimates, about 6 cable operators and 92 ISPs are providing services through overhead cables running through electricity poles.

Due to the extra load on the poles, the high-voltage electricity supply cables are at risk of snapping now and then, creating disruption in supply as well risking lives of many.

Despite 5ft of water gathering in the basement during yesterday’s heavy rain no phone lines were affected throughout the borough.

Firefighters were called to the premises on Foundry Street at 10pm after a fire alarm was activated due to the depth of the flooding.

Watch manager at Rawtenstall Fire Station Tony Spencer said: “When we were called out we thought it was just an automatic fire alarm call out.

“When we investigated it further we found that the basement cable duct, where all the telephone cables come into the building for the Rossendale Valley, was flooded severely.”

He added: “Water had been getting into the external cable duct under the road and a couple of seals have failed, allowing water into the basement. It had been raining all day but we don’t know when the water started leaking in. Five of us spent a couple of hours pumping the water out.”

The basement of Rossendale telephone exchange is around 40 ft long, 6 ft wide and 6 ft high.

A spokesman for BT said: “No telephone lines were affected during the

Engineering touches every aspect of our lives. But what is the relationship between engineering and national developmental agenda?

A brief comparative analysis cable trunking of the development plans of some economies will help us to establish the link between human capital building, national development, Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and effective application of Science, Engineering, and Technology (SET).

Malaysia’s development plans began in 1950 with publication of the Draft Development Plan for Malaya. Thereafter Malaysia has had about 23 Development Planning Documents to date, 11 of which are 5 Yearly Development Plans. Each development plan incorporates a population and housing census that provides census data on the level, availability and distribution of skilled labour for planning purposes. Malaysia placed high priority on education and skills wire duct training to develop a sufficient pool of educated, highly skilled and strongly motivated labour force.

The first installation, a bifur-
cated surface main fan station,
has been commissioned at coal miner Anglo Coal’s Zondags-fontein colliery, near Ogies, in Mpumalanga. The contract, awarded in 2008, includes two axial flow Howden fans.

The installation includes all structural, mechanical and electrical engineering design and specifications, all steel ducting, buildings, fan mechanicals, electric drives, instrumentation and control systems.
BBE adds that noise emitted by the fan stations is also well below strict design criteria.

The second installation cable duct was commissioned at platinum-mining company Lonmin Platinum’s Saffy Shaft, in the North West province, and included earthworks and civils, building works, ducting and mechanicals and electrical equipment, as well as instru
mentation and control for a trifurcated fan station.
BBE replaced two temporary fans cable trunking on the shaft with two permanent centrifugal fans, and installed ducting, which makes provision for a third fan or an emergency diesel standby fan.

The configurable Multimedia Mobile Patch from has six openings that accept the company’s IC107 modules, which include voice, data, cable-TV, HDMI, component, USB, speaker and other audio-video modules. The company says the cable cable trunking patching system is a solution for applications such as trade shows, conferences, warehouses, temporary workstations, training laboratories, point-of-sale terminals and other locations.

Users can mix and match modules, and removable dust covers that fit voice and date modules are included with the system. As an alternative to user-customization, ICC can customize a preterminated bundle-cable solution.

The mobile box has integrated screw holes to permanently secure to a location. According to ICC, the PVC housing can also be left on the floor wire duct (as shown at the bottom of this page). A cable-tie anchor is provided at the cable entry to provide strain relief when the cable bundle is pulled. Two openings exist for optional wiring duct magnets to mount on metallice surfaces. The box also has a labeling window for station identification.
