Is it worth it – Cleaning your air ducts

It didn”t take long before the salesman claimed we had other, more expensive, problems. Just like what happened with Linda, they tried to talk us into paying more, saying we had mold.

After our intern balked cable trunking  at paying $400 more, they agreed to do the work for $258. But again, our home inspector reviewed the work and says it appears nothing was done.

News 4 WOAI Trouble Shooter Brian Collister took cable duct  the video to the company”s owner to see what he would say.
“A customer pays a lot of money. And you say online casino you”re going to clean their vents. Then they go up and find all that dust and yuck in  there. They feel like they got ripped off,” Brian told the owner.

“I understand this can happen. We do cable trunking a lot of jobs,” Nes Sayag, Allergy Free Air owner, said. “I”m sorry, maybe it can happen. We have a warranty.”

The owner stands by his work, even proudly showing our camera a letter of recommendation from another customer. He also insists the UV light Linda paid $600 for really kills mold.

“Does what you do work,” asked reporter Brian Collister.

“Yes, we can find the problem,” Nes Sayag stated . “Most of the allergy or the sick comes from the mold not the dust.”

So here”s what you need to know before hiring someone to do this type of cleaning:

The National Air Duct Cleaners Association says you should avoid wire duct advertisements for cheap whole house specials and other sales gimmicks.

Also, NADCA says to find a company that is a member of their association because they meet certain industry standards. Allergy Free Air says it is not a member of the group.
